Do I need to make an appointment for maintenance at Cardoen?


Where should I have my Cardoen car serviced?

You are completely free to choose where to have your car serviced. Every Cardoen branch has a Cardoen Service Center, where you are always welcome for maintenance and repairs. All you have to do is make an appointment.

You can also have your car serviced at another authorized garage. During the legal warranty, you can go to a brand name dealer or to Cardoen. With an extended warranty, you have to come to a Cardoen branch for maintenance.

If you have a Service+ contract, it is obviously better to come to a Cardoen Service Center, because then the maintenance is free.


How much does maintenance in a Cardoen Service Center cost?

The price of the maintenance depends on several factors. The most important ones are the type of maintenance, the number of working hours we need and the cost of any spare parts.

Can I have my winter tires stored at Cardoen?

For a limited amount per year, we store your winter and summer tires.

If you have a Cardoen Lease or Service+ contract, we also change your tires for free every season. Your tires do not have to be stored with us for this service.


Do I need to make an appointment for a repair at Cardoen?

Yes, you always need to make an appointment. This can be done simply via our online form.


How much warranty do I get on my car?

On a new car you get a standard 2-year warranty, on a refurbished used car you get a standard 1-year warranty. The duration of your warranty is always mentioned on the detail page of the car.

For cars less than 3 years old, you can choose to extend your warranty up to 10 years.

The warranty covers all defective parts, except for wear and tear and all labor in case of a manufacturing defect.

The warranty does not cover the following:

  • Damage due to wear and tear
  • Labor hours and materials for maintenance
  • Damage following an accident, glass breakage and own damage
  • Damage due to vandalism, wrong use of the car and gross negligence
  • Damage due to off-road use in case of a 4x4
  • Damage to the roof mechanism of convertibles

Can Cardoen perform all types of repairs?

You can always come to Cardoen for all your repairs. Our technicians have experience with all brands and are continuously trained. They perform 95% of the work on site. For the remaining 5%, they call in specialists.

In any case, Cardoen always arranges the complete repair for you, so you have no worries.


Do I have to come to Cardoen for a repair under warranty?

Yes, it is always best to come to a Cardoen Service Center for a repair under warranty. That way you can be sure that we can continue to guarantee your warranty. This applies to the standard warranty on every car, as well as repairs under an extended warranty or Service+ contract.

Are you abroad and can't get to Cardoen for your repair? Please contact Cardoen together with your local garage owner before any work is done on your car. You will always find the details of the procedure in your Cardoen warranty booklet.

Can I insure my car at Cardoen?

Yes, you can insure your car at Cardoen. We offer 4 car insurances:

  1. Third-party liability car: this is the minimum insurance you are required by law to have. It insures the cost to the other party if you cause an accident.
  2. Comprehensive: this is the most complete insurance there is for a car and covers theft, vandalism, damage to your car in an accident you cause yourself....
  3. Driver's insurance: this insurance covers medical expenses for yourself, in accidents where you were at fault. This damage is not covered by third-party liability car insurance or comprehensive insurance.
  4. Car legal expenses: this insurance covers legal expenses for legal disputes related to your car.

The conditions, details, premiums, etc. differ for each type of insurance.


What does travel insurance Cardoen Assistance include?

Cardoen Assistance travel insurance ensures that you can travel with peace of mind. You get 24h/24h and 7/7 assistance in case of breakdown or accident with your car. This applies to yourself and your passengers. We make sure your car gets home or to a garage and offer you the necessary additional services if you have a breakdown abroad.

In addition, the travel insurance also covers medical assistance and repatriation, worldwide, for all family members under your roof.

The Cardoen Assistance travel insurance is part of the Service+ contract, or you can take it out separately.


I need travel/road assistance. What should I do?

The assistance covered by Cardoen Assistance is provided by Touring. You can reach them at +32 2 286 33 99, both inside and outside Belgium. Have your policy number ready when you call. Touring will help you with the next steps.


How does the Cardoen Service+ contract work?

With a Cardoen Service+ contract, you can rest assured that you won't pay too much for maintenance. Each month you pay a fixed rate, which covers all maintenance and repairs. The exact amount depends on the type of car and the number of kilometers you drive per year. You can find an overview here.

With a Service+ contract you enjoy the following benefits:

  • All maintenance costs included
  • All technical repair costs included
  • Free 7-year roadside assistance
  • Free replacement car
  • Free worldwide travel assistance
  • Free getting your car ready for the technical inspection
  • Free tire change

A Cardoen Service+ contract is only available for cars bought at Cardoen and less than 3 years old. Your contract runs for 7 years or until there is 150,000 km on your odometer.


Can I take out a Service+ contract for a car I bought elsewhere?

No, a Service+ contract is only available for a car that you buy from Cardoen and that is less than 3 years old.

Of course, you can still come to our Service Centers for your maintenance, even with a car you bought elsewhere. Our technicians have experience with all brands and are continuously trained.


Will Cardoen inform me if my car is recalled?

In rare cases, a car brand may issue a recall for certain models that have been sold. If your car is part of such a safety-related recall, the manufacturer will notify you directly via registered mail.


What should I do if my car needs to be repaired as part of a recall action?

Cardoen is not allowed to repair recall actions. You must always go to an authorized brand dealer.

You don't have to worry about costs, because these actions are always free of charge. So be sure to accept an invitation for a recall action repair, so you can be sure that your car is in top shape and your warranty, if any, remains valid.
